Teatro alla Scala Guided Tour

  • 17 reviews | 185 travellers
Excellent tour of the theater and museum. Our guide was engaging and spoke clearly about the history and life of these buildings. We were able to view the theater While a technical rehearsal was going on. Everyone wore face coverings and I felt that the group was acting responsibly.

Teatro alla Scala Guided Tour

Accompanied by a guide passionate about music and history, this tour takes you around the famous Teatro alla Scala, constructed in the 18th century and currently one of the most famous opera houses in the world. The world's greatest singers have performed here over the last 200 years.

During the tour we'll admire the auditorium from the balcony, appreciating all of the details of the palace, including the boxes, the stage, the stalls, and the main hall. This last area is decorated with golden stuccos and an enormous chandelier with 383 light bulbs. And if we're lucky, it's possible that our visit may coincide with a rehearsal, which will allow us to see how the artists prepare for their performances.

The tour also visits the alla Scala Museum, where you can see a wide collection of costumes, paintings, musical instruments, and painted portraits, including those of the famous Italian maestros Giuseppe Verdi and Arturo Toscanini.

We'll finish the visit back at the main hall of the theatre, the most famous in Lombardy, and one of the most important musical pilgrimages in Europe.
