Cremona Excursion

At the indicated time, you'll board a train that'll take you from the central station of Milan to the city of Cremona. The trip will take just over an hour.

Once you arrive at your destination, your guide will be waiting for you to start the tour of Cremona. We'll walk through the old town city center and see emblematic monuments such as the Baptistery or the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, whose origins date back to the 12th century. We'll tour the inside of this cathedral to marvel at its amazing frescoes.

As we walk around, we'll learn many interesting facts about Cremona's past. For example, did you know that it was part of the Spanish Crown for almost 200 years? And that its period of greatest splendor came in the 17th century with the proliferation of the luthiers?

To understand Cremona's links with music, we'll visit the Violin Museum, where we'll learn about the importance of the craftsmen's guild that made stringed instruments in this area. We'll see the various types of wood that are used, smell natural resins, and analyze how each material makes an instrument distinct.

Afterwards, we'll go to a store to taste some regional delicacies, such as salami, mostarda, or nougat. Delicious! Then, you'll have 2 hours of free time to explore the city. You'll already have the return tickets to Milan, so you'll know when to board the train on your own.

Finally, after an excursion of about 10 hours, you'll arrive back at the starting point.
